What should I put in my Newsletter?
Evergreen Creative Content for Newsletters and More
Perplexed by what to put in your newsletter? Unclear on how to get the word out about your books without being spammy?
Learn how to use your newsletter to feature content you may already have to turn a cold audience into superfans.
This two-part presentation will show you how to develop your newsletter into the cheapest and the strongest “lever” of sales and superfans you can have in your author career.
In the first part, we’ll learn more about the needs of potential readers at the various points of their “buying” journey and talk about the best types of content for people at each stage and how you can automate these emails so that you can set-it-and-forget them!
During the second part, we’ll have a hands-on workshop that guides you through creating evergreen content for your newsletter that you can recycle and use across various social media platforms (and possibly develop into future fan-bonus books!).
You’ll leave this hands-on workshop knowing how to develop and craft content that will lead to higher open rates and greater sales growth. You’ll also leave having completed at least 1-3 items that you can put directly in your newsletter or post to social media right away!
This workshop is for anyone who has a mailing list or is planning on having a mailing list. However, please note that this workshop does not cover any technical aspects of setting up or running a mailing list. It is suggested that beginners read this free primer (note, this is a long read) on the how and whys of mailing lists here: http://nicholaserik.com/mailing-lists-for-authors/
About Kara Lockharte
Kara Lockharte is the proud indie author of the Lick of Fire - Dragon Lovers series and the Space Shifter Chronicles. She loves writing romances with sexy alpha alien shifters and strong heroines. She once was a cheap food writer and found the best momos in NYC in a tiny stall behind a secondhand Bollywood VHS shop in Queens. Kara credits her small mailing list (less than 2k subscribers at the time) as part of her success in hitting top 300 in the overall Amazon store. Supposedly, she also moderates the Facebook group “Newsletter Best Practices for Authors.” You can learn more about Kara on her website: www.karalockharte.com
