Danielle Barthel: Writing an Eye-Catching Query

Starting your querying journey can feel daunting, but I will share tips and tricks to create a strong, concise query that will engage an agent's attention over others in their inbox. This presentation will cover content including what to know before you query, how to write an effective query, and what mistakes to avoid when querying.

Danielle Barthel began her career in publishing as an intern at Writers House, and got her first job out of college at New Leaf Literary & Media, Inc., an agency that represents children's and adult fiction and nonfiction. After five years in agenting, Danielle switched gears to focus solely on freelance editing, until recently accepting the position of manager of creative development at Park & Fine Literary.
